Award-winning Ghanaian rapper, Sarkodie has weighed in on the long- standing “beef” between him and dancehall artist, Shatta Wale.
According to the “Lucky” hit maker, his dispute with Shatta Wale has being a build up of negative things said about him by the “dancehall king”.
Speaking in an interview on 4syte TV, Sarkodie stated that even though at first he felt Shatta Wale was only saying some of those things for fun, it got to a point he felt disrespected.
“…we all know my brother, that would be like a good point to stand to say this is why I am mad, but it’s being like that for a minute even before the show, so if he wants to say there was a show and whatever happens he knows I won’t come out to talk. But the thing is, it’s been there if you do your checks, there have been several times that things have been said which is not true, then I’ll call him and go like yo, this is not necessary,” Sark stated.
Adding, Sarkodie stated that at first he saw it as fun but
“…that’s my brother, first I used to see it as fun, because that’s his character but then it got serious. You sit on radio and go like you met a fan of mine who said he wanted to take pictures with me and I said no and that I don’t treat my fans well… you are trying to turn the people against me, you know, and this is way before and there are times you’ve been n stage and used the “F” word and all that. I contained all that for long. The build up is from way back and not just recently,” he added.
Sarkodie is set to premiere his brand new album titled “Black Love” in a week or two.
