“I could feel my ancestors on me”- Steve Harvey after visiting Cape Coast/Elimina castles

American Television Host, Steve Harvey is in Ghana to mark the festivities of the “Year of Return 2019”.

He and his family arrrived in Accra two days ago and were welcomed at the W.E.B. DuBois Centre in Accra by the minister for Tourism, Creative Arts and Culture, and some officials from the ministry.

Yesterday, Steve and his family took a trip to Cape Coast to visit the famous Cape Coast and Elmina castles.

This is what Steve had to say about his experience at the castles:

“This was real pain I felt going back to Ghana’s slave castles…I could feel my ancestors on me… Powerful beyond words that I can explain. I encourage as many of you as possible to go HOME for your ancestors. Their strength is in each of us and we must honor their ultimate sacrifice in all that we do.”

The “Year of Return, Ghana 2019” is a major landmark spiritual and birth-right journey inviting the Global African family, home and abroad, to mark 400 years of the arrival of the first enslaved Africans in Jamestown, Virginia.
