“King of the North”, Fancy Gadam has revealed that he nearly gave up on his music career after the horrific accident that ended the lives of some of his fans in the Northern region.
The unfortunate accident which occurred in June last year, saw 8 people die and 20 others injured whilst welcoming Nigerian musician Patoranking to a concert.
Speaking in a recent interview with Andy Dosty on his Daybreak Hitz show, Fancy Gadam stated that the incident forced him to almost give up on doing music.
“I was at the airport already with Patoranking and I went there with the fan base but some few fans were coming to meet us up at the airport and the incident happened and I had to cancel my concert because of the accident,” he stated.
“It wasn’t easy for me. I nearly stopped the music. You know, for somebody to love you, support you and die for you, it’s not easy. So, I nearly stopped music but because of the encouragement from my fan base and then my management, they give me the hope to work again,” he added.
Fancy also added that the affected families did not blame him for the incident.
“Northern Region, we are one family so the families took it cool, everybody understands everything. They said I am also their son or their daughter so, everybody was like those that lost their people took it like it was God’s grace and then they welcome me, I went to visit every family that lost their children so whatever happened we give it to almighty Allah,” he said.
Fancy Gadam is however back and is set to release a new album titled “Dream”.
His first single off the “Dream” album, “3b3y3 yie” is already making airwaves.
