Staunch member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), actress Bibi Bright has stated that she will switch to the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) if the latter is selling a better message.
According to Bibi, she was never given any gifts that tie her to the NPP, hence if she feels Ghanaians are better off with the NDC, she’ll switch to that party.
“I am happy that the NPP didn’t offer me anything. I’m happy I never asked for something and wasn’t given anything. If anything happens to the NPP party right now and NDC or any other political party is selling a better message that I think will benefit Ghanaians, I can shift and I’m not a traitor,” she said in a conversation with MzGee on Gee Spot.
Bibi Bright was one of the few celebrities who publicly endorsed and campaigned for the NPP during the 2016 general elections. She however added that she was not ready to receive cash from the party and only campaigned for them because she felt “Ghanaians wanted someone to speak up for them.”
Bibi Bright added that she has only met His Excellency Nana Addo Danquah Akufo-Addo once since the NPP came into power.
“I met His Excellency [President Akufo-Addo] the first-ever since I campaigned for him, just this Easter. When I endorsed him, I never went to his office, I just went straight to work.”
Bibi Bright is currently an executive secretary of the Creative Arts Council and also doubles as an ambassador for Youth Employment Agency.
