#HijabisanIdentity: Thousands storm the streets of Tamale to protest “hijab” discrimination

Several Muslim women and sympathisers took to the streets of Tamale today to have a peaceful walk against the discrimination of Muslim women in “Hijab.”

The walk, titled “Hijab is an Identity,” saw several women from various professions, clad in various forms of the “hijab” holding placards with inscriptions like, “Let me manifest my faith in peace,” “I chose Hijab, it’s a constitutional rights,” “wear your wig, lemme wear my Hijab” among others.

The walk, is geared collectively to charge the government of Ghana to take a sustainable action against the recurring discrimination and marginalization of Muslim ladies who choose to wear the hijab.
