Canadian rapper, Drake has partnered with the biggest cannabis producers in Canada, Canopy Growth Corporation to launch a fully-licensed joint venture to produce and distribute marijuana.
The singer/rapper made the official announcement after teasing his fans on Wednesday with a video on Instagram.
“Under the deal, the multi-Grammy award winner will take a 60% stake in a subsidiary of stock-market listed Canopy Growth (WEED.TO), which produces cannabis in nearby Scarborough, Ontario,” the news outlet wrote.
According to reports, the company will focus on providing “cannabis products and herbs, medicinal herb extracts, herbal tea, rolling papers, dried plants as well as other merch and apparel.”
‘More Life’ is the latest addition to Drake’s growing business empire. The 6 God, whose estimated net worth is $150 million, also has investments in Virginia Black whiskey and e-sports organization 100 Thieves.
Drake is not the first celebrity to venture into the weed industry. Rapper, Post Malone, launched a marijuana company named Shaboink while Snoop Dogg, also collaborated with Canopy through a unit called Tweed.
