A Petition was filed by the the YBTS counsel : Safwan Yiah (Lead Counsel), Takora Sadam, Biney Michael, Seutaah Ishmael , on the 1st of March on behalf of the Petitioner, Mr. Iddi Mohammed Faried.
The Petitioner is sueing the SRC President, Mr. Lukman Mohammed on counts of abuse of power, disregard of the General Assembly and corruption.
The sitting is set to take place on the 7th March, 2021 at 10am on the school’s premises.
This is will be the first time in the history of the school that an appointee has challenged the President. Many have regarded that as a brave and bold step.
If the ruling goes in favor of the Petitioner, the SRC President will be referred to the General Assembly for a vote on impeachment.
